PTA News
First off thank you to those who attended our AGM held earlier in the week. The PTA had a pretty great year in 2022 with the treasurer reporting on income exceeding $44,000, and we made contributions of over $42,000 back to the school. It was much appreciated by the school and it allowed them to subsidise school camps, finish the learning through play area, buy some stage lighting, purchase new chrome books and other bits and bobs. The wish list is long which is why we are motivated to have another stellar year. I have agreed to remain as Chairperson, Sonay Sharp was voted in as Secretary replacing Paula Brown and we are still looking for a treasurer to replace Charmaine so please make contact if you have some time to take on this role. Thank you to all who help make the events we run so successful, we know how lucky we are to be amongst a community who cares.
Upcoming Events:
Colour Run - Thursday 30th March 1.40pm
This has been a real surprise success story so far as the kids seems to be really keen to be a part of this event and the sponsorship total so far has exceeded our expectation, so we are very excited to see where it ends. All children are invited to take part whether they have raised any money or not, we just want to end the day with a bit of messy play and everyone to have a bit of fun. There will be seven colour stations (thank you to our sponsors), some sprinklers and obstacles around the Fun-Run course. There will be some more spot prizes given out at assembly on Monday for those who have signed up, plus some spot prizes at the event itself. All sponsors and families are invited to come and watch this event. We will need helpers to set up and splash colour so please make contact if you can help with that.
Puketaha PTA Annual Golf Day- Term 2 Sunday May 7th
We have set a date for this very popular event. We couldn’t find a suitable date in term one so it will be held early on in term two. Check out the attached flyer. We will be looking for hole sponsors ($100 per hole) and please let me know if you would like to enter a team. We would love to hear from anyone with offers of prizes for the teams/ raffle or novelty holes!
Scrap Metal Day – Term 2 Saturday 20th/Sunday 21st May
This was an opportunity for our community to have a bit of a clean-up and us have a win while doing so, so this is back again this year. Start stashing your scrap metal so we can recycle it for the good of the school. See flyer attached.
The Yummy stickers promotion is back for 2023. Sticker sheets can be obtained from the school office, or from their website https://www.yummyfruit.co.nz/schools/
Kind regards,
