After school sport practises and games have ramped up and as we move into the school year more and more disciplines will begin their training and games. 

Research tells us that kids want to have fun while playing sport, in fact it's widely known as the number 1 response that youth give when asked why they're involved in sport, but do we as coaches, managers, parents and supporters place too much emphasis on winning? 

How often does a child talk about the end score when asked "how was your game?" or "How did you play?" Is it time we shifted the narrative so these responses align with why they play in the first place... to have fun right?
