PTA News

Hello all.  In the spirit of keeping everyone in the loop, at our AGM I was elected Chairperson again; Charmaine Bradstreet has agreed to remain as Treasurer and Paula Brown has taken over from her husband Marcus as Secretary. Thank you to all who came along, and it was great to see new and familiar faces.  We reflected on a year that threw challenges at our school and how we came through those and enjoyed a successful year regardless of constant disruptions. Funds we raised were channelled back to the school to subsidise camps, help with science kits, help fund the new Learning Through Play Area, of which works are now underway and other miscellaneous projects.  We asked Nyree what was next on the wish list and to be honest her vision for the school is a very positive one and we as a PTA are happy to do what we can in realising some of these project ideas, whether it is providing new Chrome Books to replace outdated IT gear, building a roof over the basketball court for a year-round all weather outdoor space to name a couple of ideas. 

Keep an eye out for our Term One fundraising ideas. The first is a new initiative to sell some Nothing Naughty Protein Bars. These will be sold in boxes of 10 and those of you who are familiar with these already know they are a healthy alternative protein or fruit snack bar.  It will be a similar format to pie sales where a sheet will come home with your child and if you can pass this around friends and workmates to widen our fundraising net it would be awesome. No pressure if you are not interested.

Our Puketaha School Golf Day is back on, we have a tentative date of April 10th, back at the Horsham Downs Golf Club.   Watch out for our flyer regarding this once we can confirm things with the Club’s management. Having said that, we are taking entries $120.00 per team of four, and are looking for sponsors $100.00 per hole.  Also, we are looking for sponsorship for prizes or raffle items so if you can help with any of these please let me know at the below email.   This was a real fun day out last year so pop it in in your calendar.

The Scrap Metal Drive is also happening this term.  We are partnering up with Sims Metal and will hopefully have some more details in the coming weeks for drop off points or contact details for us to do pickups.
