On Saturday 1 December and Sunday 2 December Puketaha Road will close for beam installation.

Concrete bridge beams will be lifted and placed across Puketaha Road and Puketaha Road will close to through traffic while these works take place. The road will close from 3.30am to 8:00pm each day. Nearby residents may notice an increase in noise during the early hours of the morning. Puketaha Road may re-open before 8:00pm if the works are completed early. Beams will be delivered individually from Auckland by transporter trucks.
Deliveries will begin at 4:00am on both days. 10 beams will be delivered - five per day. Each beam weighs 50 tonnes and is 28 metres long. When the Hamilton section opens in 2020, this bridge will take expressway traffic over Puketaha Road.
Two cranes will be set up on Friday the 31 November on either side of the road. Light towers and generators will be in place during the early hours of Saturday and Sunday morning. Please contact the communications team if you have any questions or concerns.
