Smoke Alarms
Last week our Ropu Kakano children had a visit from 'Firewise" the Fire Service education programme. It was a good reminder to all of us to have a plan. The educator also mentioned that you can ask the Fire Fighters at Chartwell to assist you to install Smoke Alarms. If you don't have a smoke alarm get in contact with the Chartwell fire station 07 854 7941 and they can come and install a smoke alarm that has a 10 year battery for FREE.
Saturday Music Classes
Enrolments are open for Term Four 2019 at the Waikato Community School of Music (formerly Hamilton Community Centre of Music). The first session is on Saturday 19th October. The school caters for all ages (3 to retired) and ability levels. We offer both group-format and one-to-one tuition. Group-format term fees range from $39 to $99 (9 lessons in Term 1) depending on age and instrument. The enrolment fee for any instrument class includes unlimited participation in our ensembles. One-to-one classes assist students to prepare for exams and earn NCEA credits.
A music appreciation/readiness programme (Music Makers) is available from age 3. Young Voices children’s choir caters for those ages 9+. Classes are held on the University of Waikato campus in Hillcrest. Contact us via our website Waikato Community School of Music or on 07 838 4611.
Te Miro Mountain Bike Club Rides

Light Party
31st October 6-8pm. Ruakura and North Campus Activate Chruch. Annual community ‘Light Party’ for kids aged up to 12 years. There’s a parents café, bouncy castles, balloon twisting, candy floss, sausage sizzle, games, and more.
