A warm welcome to our new students:
Wyatt Frankhouser, Margot MacLennan, Zara Whiteley, Lincoln Eves
Ngaa mihi nui ki a koutou. Warm greetings to you all and welcome back for Term 4.
Term 4 brings a special type of energy, everyone has a bit of a spring in their step and the tamariki are in a settled, happy place. There are many events to look forward to also in the term with the much anticipated Puaawai Production, Athletics, Orini Fun Day, Book Week, Greats and Grands Day, Kaakano 2 sleepover, Year 3 and 4 Camp, Student Led Conferences, P.T.A Disco, Christmas Picnic and our End of Year Prizegivings. It’s a busy term that flies by quickly.
On Tuesday, a very successful Ag day was run. Thank you so much to the team of parents who organised this, as well as Christine Jeffery our office manager for all her work to make this day so successful. Seeing the students leading, calling and talking about how have raised their animals showed how much effort and time they all put into their animals in preparation for this event. Well done to all the competitors and their animals.
This term, along with all of the events, our teaching team will be completing more assessments with the tamariki and bringing all the assessment information together to make an Overall Teacher Judgement on where each child is succeeding within the Curriculum. These decisions will be reflected in the End of Year written report which will go home at the end of the year. Our Student Led Conferences will be a chance for you to see how your child has been tracking with their progress also.
So, we look forward to seeing you all at all the events this term!
Kia pai too raa. Have a good day.

With Term 4 being a busy term here is a reminder about some of the activites that are happneing at the school this term.
Thanks once again to everyone who contributed to making this year’s Spring Fair an absolute success. We were so lucky with the weather and the nice day meant people stuck around instead of disappearing quick smart. We are pleased to announce we made a record profit of over $24,000 so it really was worth doing as our School benefits from everyone’s hard work.
Our next PTA meeting is in Week 3 (we only have two meetings a term) so please come along especially if you are new to the school and want to see what we are all about. All are welcome. We meet in the Puketaha School Staffroom at 7.30pm (Tuesday November 1st.)
We have signed Puketaha School up to the School Fundraising Shop https://www.schoolfundraisingshop.org.nz/ Their aim to offer a passive source of fundraising to supplement the awesome campaigns and events that take place annually. 10% of each purchase is donated to the school. They partner with many New Zealand made, owned or designed businesses from around the country. Please check them out if you like avoiding the hectic nature of shopping especially when we close in on Christmas, or just like shopping online. They have a wide variety of product available. This will be an ongoing thing, just don’t forget to nominate Puketaha School as the school you would like to support if you do make a purchase from them.
Kind regards,
Merynn Connors
