Last week we had our Year 5 and 6 Camp Raglan as well as our Year 7 and 8 Sports Camp. We were so fortunate with the beautiful weather. Both camps were a huge success and our staff, including myself all proudly noted the way our tamariki were able to show our school values while they were out of school grounds. It makes camps a pleasure when the students are so respectful and show appreciation for the extra opportunities they have available to them. Sports Camp was a particular highlight this year with Puketaha School coming 2nd overall out of 10 highly competitive teams. Congratulations to all involved in the Sports Camp team. Thank you also to our Sponsors Waikato Wardrobes, Hamilton Fencing, Lawn Solutions, Steve and Simone Parkes Lodge Real Estate, Naylor Builders, Accounting Extra and Kukri.
Yesterday was a fun day with so many crazy hairstyles and wigs, supporting the Child Cancer Charity. We were able to raise over $600! So thank you all for participating and for your donations. You can still donate by going to https://wigwednesday.org.nz/puketahaschool
Spring Fair is not far away now and things are coming together. The P.T.A now need helpers to help man the stalls. There is a sign up sheet at the front of the school if you are able to dedicate an hour or two of your time on Saturday the 24th.
Kia pai te mutunga wiki. Hope you all have a lovely weekend.
Ngaa mihi,
Nyree Olliver

PTA News
Helpers please!
Things, as you hopefully are all aware, are starting to ramp up with Spring Fair organisation. We really need parent helpers especially with the food stalls, please if you can spare some time put your name down on the roster or message me if you don’t come on the school grounds at drop-off or pick-up times anymore and I can assign you a timeslot!
Spreading the Word
We have printed off some mailbox flyers to advertise the Spring Fair. If you and/or your children can pick some up from the office and do a mailbox drop around your area we can easily spread the word this way. Let Christine know the streets you are canvassing so we don’t double up. There also has been a Puketaha Spring Fair Event created in Facebook. Please search for this and share this with your friends to advertise the event if you haven’t done so already!
Parking
We have been given access to the paddock across the road from school for parking (Sainsbury Road) on Fair Day. All helpers who arrive early are asked to please park in there first (in an orderly manor!) to free up the normal spots for guests to our school as parking does become very chaotic. Plus, we will have extra parks along Sainsbury Rd for disabled parking. These will be designated with a road cone and disabled parking sign. Please leave these parks for those people with mobility issues.
Once again, thank you for pitching in to make this fabulous community event happen.
Kind regards,
Merynn Connors
