Dear Parents, Caregivers and Children,
Last week I was fortunate to travel to the Sir Edmund Hillary Outdoor Pursuit Centre as part of our Year 7 and 8 Biennial Camp. There are many experiences I could story back to you, however, I would rather take the time and communicate that last week reaffirmed our commitment as a school to continue with this fantastic opportunity for our children. An opportunity that grows them as people and strengthens their character as they move into the world of an emerging adolescent.
In addition I would like to take the time to thank the parents and staff who give of themselves to ensure we are able to do this. I was overwhelmed by the kindness and support every parent showed throughout. As a community we can feel quite privileged with the quality of people we luckily have at hand.
Looking ahead towards the rest of the term as we head towards the halfway point, I would like to encourage you to familiarise yourself with the up and coming dates as there is plenty on the go.
One key one being are our Student Led Conference evenings (Tuesday 31st March and Wednesday 1st April). Please visit www.schoolinterviews.co.nz and use our school code: vuxnn
As always, we are always here to chat, please feel free to pop in and discuss any issues you may have.
Warm regards
Geoff
Book Fair & Book Character Day
From 16th-20th March the school will be holding its annual book fair, starting on Monday the 16th with dress up day - children are invited to dress up as a favourite book character, or in keeping with the theme of "Snow Much to Read". Looking forward to another successful Book Fair, where every purchase earns rewards to spend in the library! Whaea Emma
Greats & Grands
On Friday 20th March we are welcoming the significant people in our children's lives along to enjoy some time at our school.
Puketaha Angels is an informal group of people who are called on occasionally to help out when our families need a little extra support.
Thank you to the wonderful people who have helped out with this already this year. If you would like to be in the pool of people who are able to help with a meal every now and then, or transporting chidlren to school please email Christine on office@puketaha.school.nz
The PTA will once again be hosting an outdoor movie night, showing the movie SING. This will be held on Friday 3rd April on the Puketaha School Field.

This is an great community event, please invite family & friends to make this a successful fundraiser.
