Dear Parents, Caregiver and Children,
As the cliché goes 'Spring is in the air' and with our Spring Fair only 2 sleeps away it feels more than appropriate to celebrate all the things that spring offers us. However, what I would like to celebrate is the collaboration within our community that has enabled this magnificent event to take place. Lots of people have contributed to the thinking, planning and pulling together of this day and there are even more of you who are helping donate items and run stalls. It really solidifies the sense of community we have and I am genuinely humbled by the kindness and time people have given. If this resonates with you, thank you for helping what makes our Learning Community so strong. I look forward to seeing many of you, your friends and extended whanau on Saturday.
On a more everyday matter. Could we please ensure we use the designated crossing area on Sainsbury Road when picking up the children from school. I am noticing several families cross the road down by our PAC. I understand the extra walk to the car can be frustrating and not so timely, but we are wanting to teach the children where and when it is safe to cross, your support with this would be appreciated. Added to this is your help with waving cars through who are stopping to let children cross. Our intent is to teach children to only cross when it is clear to. If our children become used to crossing when cars stop we can potentially have an accident due to a misinterpretation. Again, your support with this is appreciated.
Finally, thanks again for a wonderful term. Saturday is going to be full of fun and excitement.
Warm Regards
Geoff

Please come along and join in the fun, the children are very excited about the day and their contributions to it. There are still some stalls and areas that would appreciate some help, a sign up sheet is available at the school gate, if you can make yourself available, even for a short time that would be great.
It is also important that we get as many people along as possible so if you can email/ share on facebook and get the word out wherever you can.

Support a Refugee Family in Hamilton!
Free training courses to become a Refugee Support Volunteer (RSV) with New Zealand Red Cross will start 10 September and 5 November After completing 6 training sessions volunteers are placed in teams to support newly arrived refugee families for their first 3-6 months in Hamilton. The support is very practical: setting up a house, showing the new arrivals around Hamilton, assisting them with doctor’s registrations, school enrolments etc. Help a family who had to flee their country start a new life in our community.
